When you arrive at Lac de Lepinet you will immediately see the meet and greet area. The bailiff has a mobile home on site here and you will be greeted when you arrive at the venue.
In the same area there is a shower and toilet block as well as electricity points. If you have booked a swim on the other side of the water, keep in mind that it is a long walk to these facilities so taking a Bivvy Loo or something similar is recommended if you are on the far side of the lake. On location it is possible to rent a rowing boat or you can bring your own to and the use of electric motors is allowed should you wish to bring one. As always, the use of a life jacket is mandatory so please bring one with you if you wish to use a boat!
Lac du Lepinet is an old sand excavation and is 14 hectares in size. The lakebed consists of sand, clay and gravel, providing many options to present a bait. There is very little weed in the lake too, so there’s no huge weedbads to get snagged in or worry about whilst angling here. There are so many features to target beneath the surface so extensive use of a marker float, Fish Spy or Deeper is worth exploring before putting your rods out. The exact stock profile on Lac de Lepinet is not known. Before it became a payment water, fish that had resided here for many years had been regularly seen in the water and it is estimated that there is around 200 originals to go at. In the past 10 years there have been several stocking programs at Lac de Lepinet with around 400 additional fish being stocked into the lake.
The healthy stock of big fish within Lac de Lepinet is fantastic! About 600 carp are now swimming gaining healthy weights each year. The lake contains a good mix of Common Carp, Mirror Carp, Grass Carp and a handful of beautifully coloured Koi Carp in many shapes and sizes. There are also 4 sturgeons that can be caught quickly if you fish with trout pellets.
The site is enclosed and completely private. This location is also perfect for customers who want to bring their dog. 24 hours a day there is someone at the venue to help you and guide you should you need it, the bailiff is extremely friendly and knows the lake very well. All swims are accessible by car, but please note that when you have unloaded your belongings you will have to move the car into the main car park. You can indicate which swim(s) you would like to fish, depending on availability. There are 4 single swims and 8 double swims available. Pegs 0,5,6,11 are single swims and the others are all doubles. A cable with buoys has been placed in the middle of the water marking your boundaries. The fish can simply pass underneath, but the bouys are in place to show the areas where you can fish, so that there is no hindrance from fishermen who want to push beyond their boundaries.
