Carp dream in Herpen

At the beginning of October, we went to Carp Dream for the first time. We had seen the photos on Facebook, but we still didn't know exactly what to expect. Our midweek started restlessly with many false beeps at night, a few missed bites in the lily pads, and a malfunctioning bite alarm. All in all, not the best start you hope for when fishing on a paid water.

Nevertheless, we managed to get a few fish on the side, including a small mirror and a sturgeon of a whopping 19 kg. Halfway through the week, the friendly owner Leon (who came to surprise us with pastries) gave us some tips.

And with results. We managed to land several fish that afternoon and the following day. From an old stock fish, a 18.7 kg pangolin, we got excited, but the highlight was a 25.5 kg mirror carp! It soon became apparent that we had the new lake record to catch with this top fish!

That night we woke up to a rock hard run and also caught a beautiful 7 kg koi carp. Our week could not be better! Carp dream, a private water with a great accommodation where the dog can sniff and run around freely and of course with a beautiful fish!

We have already booked for next year.

So Carp Dream…
See you next year!

Sincerely,
Gerdo Teunissen

Since childhood, I have been found by the water. Around the age of 12, I learned carp fishing. What makes carp fishing enjoyable for me is the relaxation and preparation for the carp session, combined with a way of fishing that constantly requires innovation to surprise the carp again!
