If you love nature, then De Ganzenkuil is the place for you. There are no ‘created spots’ on this water, so nature has retained its beauty. The ideal water for carp anglers who like to be in nature and want to use a rubber boat. De Ganzenkuil is a challenging water with many slopes. De Ganzenkuil is home to a water with many carp and large carp!

De Ganzenkuil is a 19-hectare water located near Nijmegen in Gelderland. This crystal-clear excavation is originally a sand extraction pit, which means it has considerable depths of up to 22 meters. Because of these depths, it is also mandatory to use a rowing boat. The water can accommodate a maximum of 7 anglers (13 for exclusive reservations), so there is always enough space to fully enjoy your fishing!

No neatly arranged angling spots or a clubhouse. Back to nature. This is what the Ganzenkuil stands for.

The fishing spots
At Ganzenkuil, you have the option to charge your batteries. In case you need to frequently sail out or drill fish, or if you want to charge your phone. That’s already a very nice luxury! You can find these near the owner’s house on the left and right sides. As well as a point where there is drinking water. New for 2024, a welcome luxury: multiple toilets will be installed and you’ll have the option to shower. The shower is a welcome luxury on a cold day or for a longer stay! Don’t expect beautifully landscaped fishing spots with gravel or wood chips at Ganzenkuil. What you’ll find here are six natural spots, and you can move in consultation with the manager during your stay. Most spots offer plenty of space for two anglers. To complete the nature experience, there’s a good chance you’ll spot a deer or roe, and kingfishers will gratefully use your rod tips. However, there is a nearby factory that can disturb the natural peace during the week. You’ll notice this most at spot 4.

Spot 1 is a two-person spot and is combined with spot 7, which is also a two-person spot. When you reserve this, you can choose on location whether you want to fish from spot 1 or spot 7.
Spot 2 is a one-person spot. By popular request, it’s now possible again to reserve for 1 person
Spot 3 is a two-person spot
Spot 4 This can no longer be reserved online. And may only be fished from on location in consultation with the manager when spot 3 is still available.
Spot 5 is a two-person spot
Spot 6 can no longer be reserved online. And may only be chosen on location in consultation with the manager to move to.

On the map of Ganzenkuil, a private section is indicated. On this side of the water, you are not allowed to set up a bivvy. There are two entrances leading to the Ganzenkuil domain. Spots 1, 2, 3, and 4 use the small gate. Spots 5, 6, and 7 use the large gate. Spots 1, 3, and 4 are easily accessible by car via a gravel road. If you have a large van, it’s advisable to walk the path first before driving through, as the vegetation can be very wild in some months.
The road to the other spots is unpaved. During dry periods, you can easily reach here by car. In the wetter months, it’s advisable to check the road first before driving over it with your car. Trolleys/barrows are available by the water, and it’s also allowed to transport your gear to the spot by boat if needed. When everything is easily accessible, cars are allowed to stay at the spot. A maximum of 6 cars are allowed on the premises.

The fish stock
The water has traditionally had a beautiful stock of common and mirror carp. And beautiful dark old warriors have been caught. Due to the uneven bottom, it’s unfortunately not possible to net Ganzenkuil, so the exact stock is unknown. That’s why we also gladly receive your fish photos! Every year, fish are stocked at Ganzenkuil to supplement the fish stock. As a result, there are more than 100 fish over 15kg+ and also 30 fish of 19kg+. Regularly, 20-kilo carp are also caught. There is plenty of natural food available for all fish, allowing the carp to grow well! At Ganzenkuil, you hardly have any bycatch, only sometimes a tench manages to grab your bait.

Opinion
To optimize fish safety as much as possible, the use of an inflatable boat is mandatory, and you must bring it yourself. An inflatable boat is not only pleasant at Ganzenkuil but also necessary due to the many obstacles underwater. The use of an inflatable boat is at your own risk, and you are required to wear a life jacket.
There are many trees with overhanging branches by the water, and there are many lily fields. It’s much more pleasant to drill from your inflatable boat. It is possible to rent a boat on-site (if available)
