Fyrbo Guesthouse is a beautiful old Swedish villa on the shores of Lake Grasmangen. The accommodation is located in Värmland province between Hagfors and Karlstad. The villa consists of various spacious apartments, all with their own bathroom and kitchenette. Almost all apartments have lake views. A perfect location for fishing enthusiasts.

Linder sportsman 445 catch is a pure sport fishing boat that is excellently suited for the popular fishing for zander, pike and perch. The boat is completely equipped with outboard motor. You don’t need a boating license for these boats.

Fish information
Pike, pike-perch, perch and all kinds of coarse fish are species that thrive well in the waters of Älvsbacka. The catches are therefore amazing. Whether you’re a beginner or looking for a bigger challenge, Älvsbacka offers many opportunities to practice different types of fishing. You fish in Gräsmången, a relatively large and deep lake, or in the small, fairly shallow Lersjön or Östra Örten, a large lake that is quite deep in some places. All lakes are surrounded by beautiful natural scenery.

From Fyrbo Guesthouse you have a direct view of Lake Gräsmången with its crystal-clear water. Large pike and perch are present here, along with all kinds of coarse fish. Try lures with natural colors like green and blue in summer and something bolder, like orange in spring and autumn.

On the south side of the lake, Östanåsån flows out and enters Lersjön after about 1.5 km.

In Lersjön with humus-colored and slightly murky water, anglers have good opportunities to catch pike, pike-perch, perch and all kinds of coarse fish. Try lures with slightly bolder colors like yellow, orange or red, which are clearly visible in the water.

On the south side of the lake you reach Östra Örten via a 50 m wide strait. The environment varies enormously, from rocky deep slopes to leafy reed beds. In the northern parts around the swimming area and the church, the lake is shallow with various exciting drop-offs, where pike, pike-perch and perch all thrive. Further south in the lake it becomes deeper with real slopes to fish from. In summer when the water warms up, don’t forget to also try the open water, where pike and pike-perch hunt small fish swimming at the surface – very exciting during beautiful warm summer evenings.

Pike live alone and defend their feeding territories, which they preferably keep near vegetation where there is sufficient bait. In between, they make hunting trips and sometimes pause at, for example, a structure. Vary your fishing and search for the pike. The really big pike are usually between 5 and 10 meters deep, but normal pike can sometimes go very shallow. Therefore fish both at the surface, near the shore and around shallow water, reeds and deep edges. When the wind has been blowing in one direction for several days, pike sometimes gather on the side where it’s blowing and wait for prey with their heads “against” the wind.
