Fishing Tips and Tricks

Making your Own Goo

Since Goo can be quite expensive, you can also make it yourself. It’s fun to do and you can make it completely to your own taste and color. Plus, it’s also half the price. I’ll explain what you need.

Requirements:

  • 120ml bottle of glycerine (from the pharmacy)
  • 70 grams of cornmeal (from the health food store)
  • 5 to 10ml flavor
  • Food coloring
  • You can also use xanthan gum if you have it at home, but it’s quite pricey.
  • A small bowl
  • Teaspoon
  • Syringe
  • Bottle to put the Goo in.

The steps:

  • We start with the bottle of glycerine, the glycerine goes into the bowl.
  • Add the flavor (between 5/10ml), you can choose the taste yourself.
  • Add a teaspoon of food coloring of your choice.

  • Stir everything together well, then slowly add the cornmeal.
  • The amount is approximately between 50 and 70 grams, pay close attention – when it becomes syrupy, it’s ready.

  • Pour it into a bottle and the Goo is ready for use

Have fun making the Goo and hope it brings you fish.

I have been fishing all my life, but the carp bug started around when I was sixteen, in the western part of the country where I was born. I was less active in fishing for a few years, but the passion runs where it cannot be suppressed. Fishing truly brings me peace, being out in nature, and feeling the adrenaline rush when the bite alarm goes off. Besides carp fishing, I enjoy experimenting with everything related to carp fishing.
