Fishing Tips and Tricks

Transporting the Carp after the Fight from your Inflatable Boat

You probably know it well, you have to get into your inflatable boat to fight a fish, often because there are obstacles nearby and you don’t want to lose the fish. After the fight, you then have to transport the fish to the shore. Often people put the carp on the unhooking mat in the boat, but this is inconvenient and not so pleasant for the fish.

There is an easier and more fish-friendly way to transport the carp using two plastic sail clips that you can buy at the local hardware store. When you have fought and netted the fish, do not lift it into the boat but unhook the fish in the landing net.

Plastic sail clips are very strong!

Then detach the handle of your landing net and roll up the net a bit. Now use the sail clips. Place the rolled-up landing net with the fish next to your boat. Make sure the carp’s head is pointing towards the bow of the boat, this is better for the carp during the return trip. Attach the sail clips to the rope on the side of your inflatable boat along with your landing net. Don’t worry, the plastic sail clips really won’t come loose! If you still have doubts, you can use a safety cord.

Roll up your landing net a bit and attach the plastic sail clips to the rope of your inflatable boat.

Gently return to your fishing spot with the carp on the side of the boat. This way you prevent the fish from struggling in the boat and make it much easier for yourself, but more importantly, it’s better for the fish.

Good luck!

I have been fishing all my life, but the carp bug started around when I was sixteen, in the western part of the country where I was born. I was less active in fishing for a few years, but the passion runs where it cannot be suppressed. Fishing truly brings me peace, being out in nature, and feeling the adrenaline rush when the bite alarm goes off. Besides carp fishing, I enjoy experimenting with everything related to carp fishing.
