Quiet House

The accommodation:
Upon entering Casa Tranquila, you immediately step into the cozy living room with a seating area, an electric fireplace, and a television. To your left is the toilet. As you walk down the hallway, you’ll find the laundry room with a washing machine, 3 bedrooms, and a bathroom with a double shower. On the 1st floor, you’ll find a loft with a bedroom and bathroom. Adjacent to the living room, you’ll find sliding doors leading to the covered terrace and the beautiful large garden with a swimming pool. The terrace offers the opportunity to have breakfast, lunch, dinner, or simply enjoy a glass of beer or wine outdoors. To the right of the terrace is the spacious kitchen equipped with all luxuries.
Due to the warm and beautiful climate in Spain, life mainly takes place outdoors. The house has Dutch television. Casa Tranquila is heated and cooled by three air conditioners located in different parts of the house, including an electric fireplace and underfloor heating.

The house is fully furnished and is one of the luxury homes available for rent in this region. The fully equipped kitchen includes a refrigerator, induction hob, oven, and all necessary kitchen utensils.
Many houses in the Orellana la Vieja area do not always have water or electricity. These utilities are obtained in various ways. Casa Tranquila, however, is equipped with electricity and running water, so you don’t have to worry about that.

The plot is fully fenced, making it ideal for bringing your pet.

The Orellana Reservoir (Extremadura):
The lake is excellent for swimming. The lake is the only inland water in Spain to have the ‘blue flag’. It is among the cleanest waters in Europe, which means the water is very clear and clean. As it’s a reservoir, there are many different depths, even up to 15 meters deep right in front of the house. In terms of fishing, you can fish for carp, black bass, pike, zander, and American channel catfish here. Fishing equipment is available for rent, please contact us for this. However, we always recommend bringing your own fishing reels and bite alarms. If you’re coming by car, extra lead weights are certainly handy. There are also many crayfish in the water, so an extra supply of shrink tubing is recommended. Night fishing is not allowed, but there is a night fishing zone on Orellana and we can arrange boat transport for you.

The Surroundings:
The Orellana reservoir in the province of Extremadura is the last of the three large reservoirs that regulate the level of the Guadiana River, seen from where Extremadura enters. It lies between the regions of La Serena and Vegas Altas del Guadiana, both in the province of Badajoz. The landscape is dominated by the still water of the reservoir, surrounded by medium-high mountains (Sierra de Pela, 724 m, Sierra del Castillo, 697 m) that rise above the vast surfaces. In the nearby village of Orellana la Vieja, you can experience Spanish culture and visit nice bars and restaurants in the evening. There are also restaurants in the harbor, and various activities take place here during the summer months. A supermarket can be reached within 15 minutes by car, and there’s a weekly market in Orellana la Vieja with delicious local vegetables and fruits. A must-try is the grilled chicken!
