The apartments are all equipped with modern facilities and the convenience of having everything within 5 minutes. Accommodations are designed with anglers in mind, secure parking in a private parking garage. And from here it is 10 minutes with the boat on the trailer to the port.
The apartment complex also has an elevator so the floors are easily accessible. The village of Orellana la Vieja has restaurants where you can enjoy local cuisine and fresh specialties, and there are opportunities for boat rentals and guided tours of the lake. Professional guidance and customized fishing experience
At Angeln Extremadura, a complete, worry-free fishing experience is central. Our experienced German guide knows the Orellana Reservoir inside and out and helps you find the best fishing spots, depending on the season and the type of predator fish you want to catch. The package includes a 15hp aluminum boat which can be operated without a boating license! If you want to take it more seriously or would like to learn, it’s possible to book a guide per day who is fully equipped with high-quality rods, reels and an extensive assortment of lures.
Fishing techniques such as casting, trolling, vertical fishing and dropshot are guided and explained by the guide, so that both beginner and experienced predator anglers can enjoy optimally. The combination of professional guidance, modern boats and local knowledge ensures that you can experience new fishing challenges every day.
Predator fishing on the Orellana Reservoir: Pike, Pike-perch, Black Bass and Comizo barbel
Is possible all year round, Spain has no closed predator fishing season.
The Orellana Reservoir offers an impressive diversity of predator fish species. Pike is one of the most popular catches, with specimens often between 80 and 120 centimeters in size. Pike are active around aquatic plants, shallow bays and under bridges, making casting with large lures or jerkbaits very effective.
Black Bass is popular for its fighting power and agility. This species often occurs along sheltered shores, overhanging trees and aquatic plants. Techniques such as softbaits, poppers and small jerkbaits are particularly effective.
The boats
The aluminum boats are equipped with 15hp motors and can therefore be used without a boating license. Upon request, Angeln Extremadura provides a depth finder (echo sounder). In collaboration with Tacklepeak and CMW Rutenbau, they can also offer premium rental equipment. Additionally, bait and other materials can be purchased directly from Angeln Extremadura.
It’s also possible to hire Marcus as a fishing guide for an additional fee.
The Extremadura region
Besides fishing, Extremadura has much to offer for nature lovers and culture enthusiasts. You can explore the historic villages in the area, enjoy the local gastronomy and take walks through nature areas full of wildlife and birds. The area is relatively untouched, allowing you to experience the real Spain without crowds or tourist hustle.
Accessibility and practical information
The Orellana Reservoir is easily accessible via the airports of Madrid and Seville. From these cities it’s about 3 to 4 hours drive to Angeln Extremadura in Orellana la Vieja. For an optimal experience and fishing vacation, it’s recommended to bring comfortable clothing, waterproof shoes and suitable fishing equipment.

The above prices exclude €20 reservation costs.
On location a €500 deposit must be paid in cash.

Important, ensure that you have taken out travel and cancellation insurance.
