Carpiste du Bazoches

The lake
Carpiste du Bazoches is 20 years old and has been a pay lake since early 2018. From the arrival point, the left side of the water is the deepest, averaging 2 meters, while the right side averages 1.5 meters with many shallower plateaus.

There are various slope edges, making it interesting to take your boat onto the water. It is allowed to use a boat with an electric motor, but a life jacket is mandatory! And you must be considerate of your neighbors. The bottom is hard and consists of sand and gravel.

Here and there you will find soft spots where “dirt” accumulates. In many places, the bottom is covered with a 20-40cm high carpet of weeds. The shallower parts of the water will be more difficult to fish during the high season because of this. The water is very clear, making underwater filming very interesting! However, you must be aware of a formidable opponent! Carpiste du Bazoches is home to American crayfish. The carp love them! Therefore, it is wise to use shrink tubing for your hook bait.

The fish stock
In addition to the challenges Carpiste du Bazoches offers for strategic fishing, it is also considered a ‘running lake’. And good numbers of fish can be caught. However, if you want to catch the biggest fish in this water, you’ll need to come with a solid plan. Bonus: There are no bream or dwarf catfish!

At the end of 2017 and the beginning of 2018, a total of 1000 carp were stocked with an average weight of 3-5 kg and 5-10kg. The old stock consists of about 300 carp with an average weight of 7-12 kg. There are about 30 carp weighing 15-20kg. And about 5 carp above the magical 20kg+. The heaviest carp was caught in 2017 at 24kg. Besides the diverse carp stock, you can also catch sturgeon. There are 4 sturgeons of about 1 meter, which eat the bottom and old bait. Furthermore, there are tench, pike, and zander swimming in Carpiste du Bazoches.

The fishing spots
A total of 33 swims have been created. The swims are spacious and all accommodate 2 anglers. Your swim will be determined upon arrival. Therefore, it is important to arrive at 1:00 PM. The swims will be drawn at 2:00 PM. Should you arrive late for this, you will have to choose from the remaining swims.

In total, only 20 anglers are allowed on Carpiste du Bazoches. Because there are so many spots, you often have the option to move during your stay. This must be done in consultation with Patrice. If you cannot speak French well, you can always contact us so that we can discuss this with the manager for you. It is also possible to rent Carpiste du Bazoches with large groups. This is possible from 16 anglers per week.

Parking
It is possible to reach the swims by car. This is at your own risk. The car may also be parked at the swim, but please ensure it is not blocking the path. If you visit Carpiste du Bazoches during a rainy period, it is advisable to check first before driving your car. The path is gravel-surfaced, but due to frequent use and a rainy season, this can sometimes cause problems.

Facilities
Battery charging is available for a small fee at the manager’s. There are 2 dry toilets available. We therefore advise you to bring your own ‘Porta Potti’, also because it can be quite a walk from your swim.
