The Beginning
In 1996, “Andreas Gutscher” had a vision! He wanted to make it possible for anglers to fish under pleasant conditions for the largest freshwater fish in our country, the “Catfish”. After repeated trial fishing under the most difficult conditions, he decided without hesitation to move with his entire family to Corbola in the Po Delta to set up “Catfish Camp Po” there.
Driven by incredible ambition, they have managed to create a unique “Catfish – Camp” despite huge setbacks (several floods). But above all, see for yourself!
The Po River
The Po River originates in the Cottian Alps at Valle Po on the Italian-French border and flows into the Adriatic Sea near Adria (Veneto). With a length of 652 km, it is the longest river in Italy. The river flows for a long time through the Po Plain (Italian Pianura Padana), the most important agricultural and industrial region of Italy. The Po has an extensive delta of about 380 km², whose area is constantly increasing. Five of the most important arms are Po di Maestra, Po della Pila, Po delle Tolle, Po della Donzella and Po di Goro. The challenge of catching catfish in various ways is significant.

Catfish, zander, carp and more
With a large catfish population that surpasses all other fish species, the Po is the ideal river for catfish fishing. The period after the catfish spawning season, especially in May, is very good for pursuing large fish. Catching multiple catfish in one day is possible here. In this section of the Po, it is possible to catch large catfish all year round. The catfish are caught and released back into the wild. However, fishing on the river remains a great challenge and an active form of fishing.
Besides catfish, pike-perch of impressive weights can also be found in the Po delta, and the carp population is excellent too! In the Po delta, local anglers focus almost exclusively on mullet or smaller non-predatory fish using bait pits. Catfish and pike-perch are rarely caught by the local population.

Tackle Shop
In our campsite’s own tackle shop, you can find all the fishing gear and accessories you need to catch a catfish! You can also rent equipment at the shop. You can borrow a fully assembled fishing rod from us. In addition to the rod, you will receive a fully equipped spare parts kit, for which only used accessories will be charged.
For example, a rod without assembly is available from €35.00 per week.
Fuel for boat engines and bait are always available separately.
Swimming pool
For an extra touch of luxury. You can now also enjoy a beautiful swimming pool. Our on-site swimming pool offers a refreshing cool-down in warm weather!
The Accommodations 5
Depending on our guests’ preferences, we offer various types of accommodation at our camp. There should be something for everyone. All accommodations are equipped with sanitary facilities, bed linen, pillows, and windows protected with mosquito nets against insects. There is a building on the complex where guests can pick up food and/or eat together. The accommodations are not equipped with a kitchen.

Tuna (Adriatic)
In the months of August, September, and October, you can hunt for tuna! (Catch and Release)
In recent years, the tuna population in the Adriatic Sea has recovered very well. We can now offer our guests the opportunity to go tuna fishing in the Adriatic Sea. The battle with one of the strongest fish in the sea will challenge anglers and water sports enthusiasts until the end. The fight with one of these giants often lasts 6 to 7 hours, and the angler isn’t always the winner.
With our seaworthy boat, we will take you to the fishing area. To provide optimal care for our guests, tours are conducted with a maximum of four people.
Since the tours depend on good weather, they can only be booked on short notice on-site.

Guides
Expert fishing guides will explain and guide you during the 6-hour trip! The catfish camp guides will take you to the best fishing spots and teach you the practice and theory of catfish fishing. This allows you to focus purely on fishing. Even during floods, there are still spots and quiet tributaries, making fishing possible at any water level.

Guide Boat
Andreas Gutscher Jr. grew up in a camp in Italy and has been involved in the scene since childhood. As a boy, he caught his first two-meter fish with his father. What is new territory for some anglers has been daily practice for Andreas since his youth. When he is not at school, he supports his father at the camp and goes fishing with regular guests. One of his passions is also carp fishing and catfish with a spinning rod.
Fishing license
Fishing permits are not included in the price. Price €55.00 per week, payable on-site. Fuel and bait will be charged extra! We cannot be held liable for any price changes by the municipality or province.
Additional Information
Please note that the use of all rental boats and all camping facilities is at your own risk. And of course, parents are responsible for their children! All our boats are insured against liability and are fully comprehensive. Please also refer to our terms and conditions.

Rules
Change of accommodation:
Depending on the available camping spots, when changing from guest room to camping, the difference is only halved.
Rebooking of the stay: Depending on availability, administration costs of €15 will be charged on site.
Change of participants: Administration costs of €15 will be charged on site.
Shortening of stay:
a) In case of early departure or late arrival, no amount will be refunded to the guest.
b) In case of unforeseen events causing the camp to close, the guest will not be refunded for the remaining unused vacation days, but the unused days will be credited and must be enjoyed within 3 months (rebooking of credited days is required).
Fishing permit:
On site, the fishing permit is issued in the name and on behalf of the guest. The camp accepts no responsibility for incorrect information in the license. For minors, the signature of both parents is required.
Responsibility:
The camp and/or Angling Escapes accept no responsibility for the boats and fishing processes. Upon arrival, participants are required to inform themselves on site about the individual obligations when using the boats, such as wearing a life jacket and complying with navigation rules.
Complaints:
Any communication regarding complaints or similar must be made in writing at the time they occur, otherwise by registered mail within 10 days after the end of the stay if non-compliance was established at a later date.
The use of all rental boats and camping facilities is entirely at your own risk. Parents are responsible for their children!
Legal provisions:
Italian law applies (place where the services are provided).
The boats are in principle insured against liability and fully comprehensive insurance. With a fully comprehensive insurance policy with a deductible of € 400.00, the participant is also informed that the boats are also insured for damage caused by collision and impact if damage is caused to third parties.
However, there is no insurance for minor damage to the boats that the participant causes himself and must therefore bear himself, for example to the rod holder. Nor is there any insurance in the event that the participant causes damage to other people as a result of his possible misconduct, also Angling Escapes and the owner of the location are not liable in this case.
