Fish Stock
Étang de Méry has a beautiful and healthy carp population that perfectly matches the natural and peaceful character of the water. The stock mainly consists of mirror carp, common carp, and some koi. The heaviest known catch so far is a common carp of 26 kg, which shows that there are serious fish swimming around.

The average weight of the carp is around 12 kg, with regular outliers towards 15 kg and higher. It is estimated that there are currently about 450 carp in the lake. As the water is still relatively unknown and lightly fished, there is still much to discover. This creates an exciting character: every bite can lead to a surprise.

New stockings are planned for the winter of 2025 to further replenish and diversify the stock. This makes Étang de Méry an interesting destination for the future as well.

Besides carp, whitefish and pike are occasionally caught, contributing to a balanced ecosystem. However, predator fish are not specifically targeted and do not hinder carp fishing. However, you should be aware of crayfish.

General
Étang de Méry is a former gravel pit with a varied and interesting bottom profile. The depths vary up to about 5 meters, with slopes, plateaus, ledges, and areas of sand, mud, and gravel. This creates many hotspots that can be fished strategically. This makes the water both accessible for less experienced anglers and challenging for seasoned carp hunters.

The estate has 14 spacious and well-maintained fishing spots. All spots are suitable for two anglers and are far enough apart to ensure privacy and tranquility. Each spot offers enough space to set up a bivvy and park your car.
Spots 1 through 5 can accommodate small campers and allow fishing from them. The spots are rented as single-person spots, but it’s possible to fish together.

Bait boats, inflatable boats, and electric motors are allowed, and you will need to bring them yourself. Upon arrival, you will be kindly welcomed by manager Renaud, who will show you around the site and help you start your session. His knowledge of the water is a valuable resource for a successful fishing holiday.

Facilities
In Méry-sur-Marne and the immediate surroundings, you’ll find various amenities such as supermarkets, bakeries, cafes, and restaurants. Perfect for shopping or relaxing outside the estate.

A dry toilet is available on site. Work is currently underway on additional facilities such as showers and regular toilets, to further enhance comfort at the domain for future guests.

In the future, the intention is to create a central point with sanitary facilities and possibly power supply for charging batteries or phones.
