Etang du Bambou is a carp fishing lake with a surface area of approximately 1.4 hectares, located in the green heart of the French department of Aube. The lake is surrounded by nature and offers complete peace and privacy for anglers looking for a relaxing and serious fishing holiday. The water is accessible and clear, with a depth varying between 1.40 and 2.30 meters, making it ideal for various fishing techniques.

The fish stock consists of approximately 190 to 200 healthy carp with an average weight of around 13 kilograms. There are also larger specimens present up to 22 kilograms, and possibly even heavier. This makes Etang du Bambou not only suitable for beginner carp anglers, but certainly also interesting for the experienced sport angler looking for a nice challenge.

The location of the water is favorable, just a few hours’ drive from the Netherlands and Belgium. Within five minutes’ drive from the lake there are various facilities such as a bakery, supermarket and other shops. This means everything you need is within reach, without compromising the natural and peaceful atmosphere on the site itself.

Etang du Bambou is exclusively rented to a group of maximum four anglers. This setup ensures plenty of fishing space per person, peace at the water and a relaxed atmosphere where everyone can fish comfortably. Because you don’t have to share the domain with other groups, you have complete freedom to choose your own swims and get the most out of your fishing holiday.

In addition to the fish stock and location, attention has also been paid to the facilities. There are two chalets with basic but comfortable facilities, as well as sanitary facilities with hot water. At both fishing spots there is also a wooden fishing platform, which makes fishing extra comfortable.

In short, Etang du Bambou offers everything an angler could wish for. A good balance between nature, comfort and fishing success. Whether you come for a week of relaxation or are specifically looking for big fish, this water is an excellent choice for a fishing holiday in France.

The fishing spots
Etang du Bambou has two spacious fishing spots, each with its own 16 m² wooden fishing platform. Both spots have access to a barbecue, plenty of space and beautiful views over the water.
You can fish with a maximum of three rods per angler. The fishing spots are positioned so that all anglers have equal opportunities on different parts of the water.
The use of a bait boat or rubber dinghy is permitted – useful for accurately feeding and sailing out your lines.

The accommodation meets all basic luxury requirements for a maximum of 2 people per chalet.

Non-anglers €10,- per person per day

On location you will need to pay a cash deposit of €300,- when everything is left correctly you will receive this back during the post-inspection.

You must report to the administrator at the times listed below.

Maximum 4 anglers on site, with 3 rods per angler
Barbless hooks or micro-barbed hooks. Hook size minimum no. 6 and maximum no. 2
Mandatory catch and release: all fish must be returned to the water alive
Nylon mainline: minimum 30/100 and maximum 38/100
Leader can be braided, only with coating or fluorocarbon “Safety rig” setup (no swivel above the leadcore)
Seeds/particles must be well cooked - subject to inspection
Boats with electric motors are allowed. Bait boats are also allowed. Life jacket mandatory when using a boat
Disinfectant is mandatory
Unhooking mat and landing net must be used. You must bring these yourself.
Keep nets: fish may not be kept in sacks

Violation of the above rules may result in immediate departure. This can be decided unilaterally by the owner. Follow the rules so that everyone has a fantastic week.

At all waters mediated by Angling Escapes, you are obliged to bring First Aid/Carp Care and treat the carp with it. All carp remain the property of the venue. Photos taken may be used for publication by the owner and by Angling Escapes.

Neither the manager, the owner, nor Angling Escapes is liable for loss and/or theft of goods or accidents and/or personal injury. Both the manager/owners of the water and Angling Escapes cannot be held responsible for damage or loss of your belongings.

Important, ensure that you have taken out travel and cancellation insurance.
If the above rules are not respected, the owner may at any time force you to leave the premises without any refund of the travel sum.
