Vinkeveense Plassen – Flexible camping pod

The Vinkeveense Plassen
The fish population is very diverse. Besides common carp, mirror carp, and grass carp, you’ll also find a large population of roach, bream, tench, perch, pike, and zander in the Vinkeveense Plassen. It’s definitely not an easy water to fish, partly due to the plant growth and clear water. It’s very important to spend enough time looking for spots where you can best place your bait. A water viewer (scope) is certainly a handy tool that shouldn’t be missing from your equipment. This way you can see exactly where your bait will land. Precisely in that bare spot between the weeds, or on the edge of the mussel bank under the protruding tree.

It can get quite busy in summer with boats coming and going, especially in nice weather! It’s best to set out your lines during the quieter moments. Don’t forget to bring a top weight as this is a must due to the recreational traffic.

If you would like to fish with more people at Vinkeveen, it is possible for us to place the Flexible Campingpod next to the XL pod or near the Chalet. This gives you the option to fish with 4 anglers.

Spectacular fight
Still, there’s nothing more beautiful than experiencing a fight on the big water. Usually ancient and incredibly strong common and mirror carp that push your rod to its limits. Following the fish with your boat to prevent it from getting stuck. The rod over the edge of the boat with the tip in the water and a slowly ticking drag. The boat moves along with the hard-fighting fish! From the depths, you see the first shadow of your opponent appear. The image of that powerhouse that has been pulling you across the water for 10 minutes or more becomes clearer. Until the fish finally gives in and slowly glides over the net cord. A fantastic adventure!! That’s the reward of a successful fishing session at the Vinkeveense Plassen.

It is possible to shower. This can be done on the peninsula where the chalet is also located. Here you will find public showers and toilets. Depending on the location of the Flexible Campingpod, you can take a small boat to the peninsula.

You can buy the right fishing permits at the local fishing tackle shop. If this fishing tackle shop is closed, you can also buy a fishing permit at Hotel Borger. This hotel is located across the street.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to reach the Flexible Campingpod by car. You can use the cargo bikes that are available. Alternatively, you can rent a boat or bring your own to transport your belongings to the Flexible Campingpod.
