Lac de Lepinet

You will find Lac de Lepinet southwest of Paris, 543 km from Breda. A beautiful large carp water in the North of France. The lake is surrounded by a beautiful row of trees. In this beautiful piece of nature you fish in peace. Lac du Lepinet is an old sand excavation of 14 hectares. The bottom is a mixture of sand, clay and pebbles. There is very little weed in the lake. It pays to first explore the lake with a depth gauge on small gravel plateaus or sand flats upon arrival. You can book on cuttings at the beautiful location Lac de Lepinet. The site is closed and so there are no passing hikers. This location is also perfect for clients who want to bring their dogs.

The facilities
When you arrive at Lac de Lepinet, you’ll immediately see the meeting point. The gate might be closed, feel free to call us for the code. The facilities like electricity, shower, and toilet are located at the meeting point. There is 1 refrigerator per side and a freezer for bait, which can be used by everyone.

At the water is a facility area for showering/toilet and charging your phone or battery. There are two showers and 1 toilet.

If you have booked a swim on 4,5,6,7, please note that it is a long walk to the facilities. Therefore, it may be easy to bring your own toilet facilities. You may bring and use a rubber boat with electric motor. A life jacket is mandatory! Boat fishing is recommended for good fishing. You will have to bring all materials yourself, such as a landing net, unhooking mat, and weigh sling. There is good access for vehicles to bring your equipment to the swim. There is also room for a caravan or camper on swims 2,3,5,6,7,9 and 11.

The owner has 3 boats on location which can be rented. You will have to arrange and pay for this on location. It is also possible to request particles.

The lake
Lac du Lepinet is a former sand quarry of 14 hectares. The bottom is a mixture of sand, clay, and gravel. There is little weed in the lake. And because there are natural springs underwater, the water level will remain higher than other waters even during peak season. Upon arrival, it’s worth exploring the lake with a depth finder to locate small gravel plateaus or sandbanks. The grounds are enclosed, so there are no passing hikers. This location is also perfect for customers who want to bring their dogs.

The lake is divided into 2 parts.
Lac de Lepinet North and Lac de Lepinet South. These two parts are separated by a buoy line across the middle of the water. So you won’t be disturbed by anglers on the opposite side.

The Fish Stock
The fish stock at Lac de Lepinet is fantastic! There are approximately 800 carp with amazing weights. The lake contains a good mix of healthy common carp and mirror carp, grass carp, and koi carp in various sizes and types. The common carp are especially beautiful with their large scales and thick tail roots. New fish are stocked each year to maintain the population. There are also four sturgeon, which you’ll quickly catch if you fish with trout pellets.

Before it became a paylake, there were already beautiful beauties swimming around. It is estimated that there were about 200 fish. In the past 10 years, there have been several stockings at Lac de Lepinet with approximately 800 fish. Of which the stock over the 20kg+ carp is large. With an average weight of around 14 kilos. All in all, Lac de Lepinet is a wonderful destination. In 2024, unfortunately, about 80 fish died to spawn. The owner has released new fish, which has increased the catch numbers. But the average weight has decreased to 13 to 14 kilos.

The fishing spots
All swims are accessible by car. Note that motorhomes and caravans are possible on swims 6,7,9, and 11. After unpacking, you can park your car in the parking lot or leave it at the swim. During booking, you can indicate which swim you’d like to reserve. Swims that are already booked will no longer be shown in the calendar. There are 4 single swims and 8 double swims. A cable with buoys has been placed in the middle of the water. The fish can swim freely underneath. But it clearly shows the fishing zones, preventing interference from anglers who might overestimate their swim size.

Swims 0,1,2,3,4,5 are located on Lepinet South
Swims 6,7,8,9,10,11,12 are located on Lepinet North.
A maximum of 7 anglers can reserve per side. This gives you the flexibility to choose a different swim on location if needed, though this must be discussed with the owner.
When you’ve rented half the lake, a maximum of 10 anglers are allowed.
When you’ve rented the entire lake, a maximum of 20 anglers are allowed.

Bookable per week from Saturday to Saturday with maximum 7 anglers per side
For a reservation of half the lake, this can be maximum 10 anglers.
For a reservation of the entire lake, this can be maximum 20 anglers.

Price per single swim €395 – Swims 0,5,6,11 per week

Rules

You must report to the administrator at the times listed below.
If you are delayed, please contact the owner/manager by phone.
Arrival 12:00 PM to Departure Day 11:00 AM
- The water is divided into zones marked by buoys. Stay within your own zone. - 3 rods are allowed
- When the lines are in the water, you must stay near the rods.
- Use good strong hooks no larger than size 2 with micro barb
- No benthooks
- No fixed lead systems, only free running/safe systems are allowed.
- Ensure that the fish can free itself at all times in case of line breakage.
- Main line must be nylon, minimum 12 or 15 lb breaking strain.
- No fixed leads.
- No braided leaders or lead core. Only tubing.
- No tiger nuts or peanuts
- Micro particles are allowed such as buckwheat, hemp seed etc.
- Large particles may be used as hook bait, but must be crushed when feeding.
- You must bring your own unhooking mat and weigh sling. Make sure to bring a large size!
- You must bring your own 42" landing net.
- Wet the landing net and unhooking mat before using it.
- Fish must not be kept in a weightsling or keepnet.
- Keep the fish wet during photography.
- Bait boats may be used provided they are used sensibly and do not disturb other anglers.
- Boats and electric motors are allowed. You may bring your own boat with electric motor.
- Having and wearing a life jacket is mandatory! You may not use the boat without one.
- Angling is only permitted at the designated swims. Set up your bivvy at these spots, not on the grass.
- Dogs are allowed, keep them leashed at your swim. Cleaning up after them is mandatory.
- Dogs are allowed. (Note that some breeds are banned in France!)
- Barbecue on legs may be used. (waste must be placed in garbage bags and cleaned up by yourself)
- If rules have changed between the time of your booking, you will be informed by the manager upon arrival

Parking
Cars are only allowed in the designated parking area.
Driving around the domain is allowed for loading/unloading fishing gear, watch your speed and drive slowly. Use the designated roads. Do not drive on the grass.

Facilities at the amenities building.
Both the North and South sides have their own amenities building. Keep it tidy and clean for everyone.

General rules
Campers or caravans are not allowed on the premises.
Maintenance may be carried out around the water and possibly on the swims to keep the location tidy. Unacceptable behaviour or excessive use of narcotics will lead to removal from the premises.
Respect your surroundings and other anglers, so no unnecessary noise from radios, etc.
No visitors are allowed, other than the people who have been registered.
Children under 15 years of age are not allowed to fish without supervision.
The use of garbage bags is mandatory
Leave no waste behind, cigarette butts and old fishing line are also included, neatly put everything in the garbage bag.
Please use the toilet for your needs, WC available. (bring your own toilet paper)
You can use the shower, please leave it clean.
After using the facilities, you are kindly but urgently requested to leave everything clean.
Swimming is prohibited.
It is forbidden to have fire on the ground
Damaging trees and plants is strictly prohibited.
Free-roaming animals must be left undisturbed.
Persons who cause damage to property may be held liable for it. Caught fish remain the property of the reserved location and must be handled with the utmost care - NO KILL.
Please respect the nature around you.

On all waters that Angling Escapes mediates, you are required to bring First Aid and treat the carp with it.
Neither the manager, the owner, nor Angling Escapes is liable for loss and/or theft of goods or accidents and/or personal injury. Both the manager/owners of the water and Angling Escapes cannot be held responsible for damage or loss of your belongings.
Important, ensure that you have taken out travel and cancellation insurance.
If the above rules are not respected, the owner may at any time force you to leave the premises without any refund of the travel sum.
