In northern France just 445 kilometers from Breda is the idyllic Little Christoph. Little Christoph’s estate is 4 acres and surrounded by forest scrub and tall hedges, closed with a cast-iron gate. On sunny days when the weather has been calm, the water can turn a beautiful azure blue color and the water is very clear. In times of rain, water can turn gray/brown and the lake is murky. The water itself is nearly 2 hectares in size, has some lily pads, a fallen tree in the water and has depths as deep as 7 meters (depending on the water level).

The accommodation
A stunning lakeside accommodation with all amenities and luxury. Which is heated by a pellet stove during the cold period. Directly on the right, you’ll find a beautiful cottage with a large conservatory featuring a kitchen table and chairs, a fully equipped kitchen with a large fridge/freezer, oven, 2-burner induction cooktop, and a microwave. A living room with a (sofa) bed, TV and internet, and a neat bathroom with toilet and shower. The sofa in the living room can be converted into a double bed. On the upper floor, there are 2 separate bedrooms for 2 people each, one of which has a view over the lake.

The lake
Right after the cottage, the lake begins. The water originated as a gravel pit. This is also reflected in the bottom line. On sunny days when the weather has been calm, the water can turn a beautiful azure blue color and the water is very clear. In times of rain, water can turn gray/brown and the lake is murky. The water itself is nearly 2 hectares in size, has some lily pads, a fallen tree in the water and has depths as deep as 7 meters (depending on the water level). The bottom is gravel and clay with no weed growth. There are crayfish present, which are certainly part of the carp’s diet.

The fish stock
The fish stock can truly be described as excellent. There are common carp, mirror carp, and leather carp swimming around, with many fish over 20 kilos. The top fish at Little Christoph is a huge common carp that weighs over 31 kilos. There are also white fish, pike, roach, bream, and tench. There are no catfish or sturgeon in Little Christoph. But the challenge at Little Christoph is to convince the fish to bite; it’s not an easy water.

Since you have the entire water exclusively, without other anglers, you can book for 2 anglers and 3 non-anglers. However, we advise that 6 rods and a maximum of 2 anglers is a better option. You can also bring your dog if you’d like, but you must mention this when booking.
The difficulty level is average. There is, of course, some fish wariness, but we also receive reports of more than 40 fish caught in a week.

Facilities
– There is a rowboat available for use, but you can also bring your own boat or bait boat.
– Bed linen is provided, but bring your own towels and tea towels.
– The final cleaning is your responsibility. Leave the cottage as clean as you found it. Please respect other people’s property.

If you are delayed, please contact the owner/manager or us by phone.

You may only fish at Little Christoph if you have made a reservation for the number of anglers and non-anglers. If this changes, please inform us.

We expect all anglers to practice responsible fishing.

Inflatable boat with electric motor is allowed at your own risk.

Unhooking mat, weigh sling, landing net, and other fishing equipment must be brought by yourself.

2. General rules

You must leave the accommodation clean. After using the facilities, you are kindly but urgently requested to leave everything clean.

Maintenance may be carried out around the water and possibly at the fishing spots to keep the location tidy.

Unacceptable behaviour or excessive use of narcotics will lead to removal from the premises. Respect your surroundings and other anglers, so no unnecessary noise from radios, etc.

Caught fish remain the property of the reserved location and must be handled with the utmost care - NO KILL. Please respect the nature around you.

Children under 15 years of age are not allowed to fish without supervision.

The use of rubbish bags is mandatory. Do not leave any waste behind; this includes cigarette butts and old fishing line. Everything neatly in the rubbish bag. Note that in France, this must be sorted waste!

Please use the toilet for your needs, WC available.

Swimming is prohibited.

It is forbidden to have open fires on the ground.

Damaging trees and plants is strictly prohibited. Free-roaming animals must be left undisturbed. Persons causing damage to property may be held liable.

All photos taken on the property and of the fish on site have usage and publication rights for the location and Angling Escapes.

On all waters that Angling Escapes arranges, you are required to bring First Aid/Carp Care and treat the carp with it.
The manager, the owner, nor Angling Escapes is liable for loss and/or theft of goods or accidents and/or personal injury. Neither the manager/owners of the water nor Angling Escapes can be held responsible for damage or loss of your belongings.
Important, ensure that you have taken out travel and cancellation insurance.
If the above rules are not respected, the owner may at any time force you to leave the premises without any refund of the travel sum.
