The Double Hair Method

A few years ago I read an article about carp fishing with a double hair, specifically for particles. Initially I was skeptical, but I decided to try it myself. My conclusion? It absolutely works! Read on to discover how the double hair rig works exactly and how to apply this successfully in carp fishing.

Because I often fish with tiger nuts myself, I sometimes have issues with whitefish. That’s why I wanted to try this double hair rig for once. With a single hair rig, whitefish can take the bait more easily. To prevent this, the double hair rig is a solution! This way, you get more volume behind the hook, and it becomes much harder for whitefish.

“How do you make a double hair rig, and what do you need?”

Materials needed;
*anti-tangle sleeve
*braided hooklink
*a hook
*a rig ring
*baiting needle
*boilie stops
*particles

Making your own double hair rig.
Take the hooklink to the desired length. Now tie the rig ring to the end of the hooklink. Then attach the hook to the hooklink with a knot. The rig ring should hang just below the knot. Then take a piece of hooklink about 12cm long. Now tie a loop on both ends. Then pass the hair through the rig ring, make them equal in length, and secure with a knot. The double hair rig is now almost ready! Place an anti-tangle sleeve on your hooklink and make a loop at the end. Now you can thread the tiger nuts or other particles onto the double hair.

Good luck making & trying out this rig!

I have been fishing all my life, but the carp bug started around when I was sixteen, in the western part of the country where I was born. I was less active in fishing for a few years, but the passion runs where it cannot be suppressed. Fishing truly brings me peace, being out in nature, and feeling the adrenaline rush when the bite alarm goes off. Besides carp fishing, I enjoy experimenting with everything related to carp fishing.
