Fishing session at Little Carpvalley

During the last weekend of March Bert, his daughter and I left for a place just below Hilvarenbeek for a fishing session on Little Carpvalley. The first night session of us together, because on our own property you can fish at night during the lockdown and curfew. How Little Carpvalley turned out and whether we caught anything can be read below.

Little Carpvalley: a new (running) water

Little Carpvalley is a fairly new water owned by Ad Brak. Together with his men, he has made Little Carpvalley a beautiful place about 3.5 acres in size and a water area of 0.8 acres.

It’s a beautiful spot for fishing. At the back of the water, there’s an island with a fish safety zone behind it. This shows optimal consideration for the fish. Across the water, a new bank has been created and planted with young vegetation. Making the spot more sheltered

The facilities

They also added some amenities such as a wooden chalet with a porch. The two solar panels provide light. It also gives a possibility to charge your phone. Behind the chalet is a chemical toilet.

At the jetty in the water is a boat where you can place two rod pods. In front of the chalet is a place with bark where you can set up your tent very nicely.

The catches and stock

Beautiful specimens with potential! The big specimens unfortunately did not materialize.

Little Carpvalley is a cool place to stay and catch some nice fish. And those nice fish are definitely swimming there. For example, there are very nice specimens of young mirror carp, as well as some large scale and mirror carp. You even have the opportunity to hook a sturgeon there. That too is quite an experience.

Fishing session on Little Carpvalley,

A relaxing fishing trip

We enjoyed a few beautiful days here. It wasn’t easy with the change in weather. From 14 degrees in the sun with no jacket, to hailstorms with thunderstorms around freezing and heat suit on, but we caught some nice fish and are an experience richer. It was a nice challenge in beautiful surroundings.

We find this a very suitable location for all carp anglers who want to get out there and catch a fish with not too much effort. It is a challenging water to enjoy being busy to catch your fish.
