About Vinkeveense Plassen – Chalet
The Vinkeveen Lakes Chalet is a wooden accommodation right on the water on one of the peninsulas of the Vinkeveen Lakes. Perfect for carp anglers, coarse anglers, or predator anglers who want more luxury while still enjoying the outdoor life! The accommodation features a bedroom with a double bed, kitchen, shower, toilet, and a living room area. Outside, there’s even more luxury to enhance your holiday enjoyment with a hot tub, sauna, and outdoor kitchen.
The Vinkeveense Plassen is an amazing body of water and nature. However, if you’re expecting to catch many carp, you might have the wrong impression. It’s hard work for that one very beautiful carp. The clear water means that placing rigs requires careful consideration. You also need to be comfortable handling a boat. Without a boat, carp fishing is already a lost cause. For predator fishing, it’s beautiful to go out on the water by boat. And for coarse fishing, the Vinkeveen Lakes are also excellent.
You have oceans of space to find interesting spots for carp fishing. There are spots among the weeds, but also large hard mussel plateaus. The depth varies between 3 and 6 meters. During the high season there is a lot of pleasure boating on the water. Therefore, use top weights and cast out the rods in the morning or evening. In the summer you have to take into account that there is a lot of pleasure boating. And shrink tubing over the boilies against possible lobsters.
It is possible to rent a boat (with guide) including a meal to visit all the beautiful places on the Vinkeveense Plassen. This is possible in consultation.

Vinkeveense Plassen – Chalet
The Vinkeveense Plassen
The fish stock is very diverse. Besides common carp, mirror carp and grass carp, you’ll also find a large stock of roach, bream, tench, perch, pike and pike-perch at the Vinkeveense Plassen. It’s definitely not easy water, partly due to the plant growth, crayfish and clear water. It’s very important that you spend enough time searching for spots where you can best place your bait. A water scope is certainly a handy tool that really shouldn’t be missing from your equipment. This way you can see exactly where your bait lands. Precisely in that bare spot between the weeds, or on the edge of the mussel bank under the overhanging tree.
It can get quite busy in summer with boats coming and going, especially in nice weather! It’s best to set out your lines during the quieter moments. Don’t forget to bring a top weight as this is a must due to the recreational traffic.
Spectacular fight
Yet there’s nothing better than experiencing a fight on open water. Usually ancient and enormously strong common and mirror carp that demand the utmost from your rod. Following the fish with your boat to prevent getting stuck. The rod over the edge of the boat with the tip in the water with a slowly ticking clutch. The boat moves along with the hard-fighting fish! From the depths you see the first shadow of your opponent appear. The image of that powerhouse that’s been pulling you across the water for 10 minutes or longer becomes increasingly clear. Until the fish finally gives up and slowly slides over the landing net cord. A fantastic adventure!! That’s the reward of a successful fishing session at the Vinkeveense Plassen.
Arrival and departure times
You can buy the right fishing permits at the local fishing tackle shop. If the fishing tackle shop is closed, you can also get your fishing permit at Hotel Borger, located opposite the fishing tackle shop.
Arrival and departure times are by arrangement. This is due to the bridges that are closed at certain times. You’ll have contact with the owner about this before arrival. You’ll be picked up at the parking area with a large boat to load all your fishing gear and transport it to the Campingpod XL.

The Vinkeveense Plassen are three connected lakes totaling 1000 hectares of crystal clear water. Peat used to be extracted from the lakes, which is why various peninsulas and small islands were formed. You’ll find deep parts, shallow parts, overhanging trees, lily fields, large areas covered with weeds and gigantic plateaus covered with mussel banks. About 10 minutes cycling and you’ll reach the local supermarket in Vinkeveen.
