Fishing Tips and Tricks

Getting Particles on the Swim

You can row out your bait and then drop your boilie in the right spot (hard plate) and sprinkle some particles around it. It can also be done with a spod or PVA. You can also sail to your swim with a bait boat. It is sometimes also possible to walk to the other side. If you are going to do that, it is better to cast your rods first before you start feeding on the other side, so you can be sure that the bait ends up in the right place. This is only possible if you can get to your swim.

Different types of particles

There are also swims where you cannot get the small bait such as tiger nuts, peanuts, hemp, pigeon feed or chickpeas etc. on your swim. Then I have some tips to still succeed! There is also a possibility to use breadcrumbs, which gives you a firmer ball to throw. You can then also turn some smaller balls to shoot them with the catapult. When the ball hits the water, it will eventually fall apart.

You can also freeze it; add some coarse fish feed to the particles to get a firmer ball. Put the feed as a ball in a sandwich bag, then put it in the freezer. The next day you have a nice frozen feed ball to take to the waterfront to throw it to your swim.

Finally, I wish you a good catch.

I have been fishing all my life, but the carp bug started around when I was sixteen, in the western part of the country where I was born. I was less active in fishing for a few years, but the passion runs where it cannot be suppressed. Fishing truly brings me peace, being out in nature, and feeling the adrenaline rush when the bite alarm goes off. Besides carp fishing, I enjoy experimenting with everything related to carp fishing.
