The Particalipo, an Ice-Cold Trick

As a carp angler, you sometimes think too complicated and forget the basics of carp fishing. Particles are an inexpensive and very effective carp bait, especially during the winter period. During colder months, when carp are less active and feed less frequently, it's important to present your bait more compactly. This can be done easily with PVA, but even more easily with the Particalipo. This increases the chance that the carp will bite more quickly and precisely, even if it's eating little.

New? No, a forgotten trick from the old days. Particles remain one of the most reliable choices for winter carp, and with the right presentation you’ll catch more fish without complicated strategies.

Requirements for the Particalipo:

  • Particles
  • Rig
  • Plastic disposable cup (don’t worry, we’re not throwing it away)

To start, soak the particles for at least 24 hours. Are they soaked? Then they go for cooking. Note: if there are peanuts in the particles, boil and rinse them at least three times (boil → rinse → boil → rinse → boil → rinse) to make them perfectly suitable as carp bait.

When the particles are ready, take a plastic cup and put a layer of particles in the bottom. Then place your rig on top of the particles.

Fill the cup completely with the rest of the particles. Once the cup is filled, it can go in the freezer. Be patient… wait a bit longer… and tada! PARTICALIPO.

Take the cup out of the freezer, hold it in your hands for a moment, squeeze gently and pop! Your Particalipo is ready to use and perfectly presented for winter carp or any carp fishing session.

I have been fishing all my life, but the carp bug started around when I was sixteen, in the western part of the country where I was born. I was less active in fishing for a few years, but the passion runs where it cannot be suppressed. Fishing truly brings me peace, being out in nature, and feeling the adrenaline rush when the bite alarm goes off. Besides carp fishing, I enjoy experimenting with everything related to carp fishing.
