The Fully Camouflaged Rig

The fully camouflaged rig
To make your rig and hook even more inconspicuous, you can choose to create a fully camouflaged hooklink and hook. Of course, you can also choose to camouflage only your hooklink. Both variants work well in weedy, pressured, and clear water.

Required materials
* Anti tangle sleeve
* Hook (size 6) with long shank
* Braided hooklink
* Weed/algae hooklink material
* Two colors of green Marabou feathers
* Super glue
* Scissors

How to make this camouflage rig?
Take a braided hooklink and cut it to your desired length (not the weed/algae hooklink). Create a hair on it and thread the end through the back of the hook eye. Then take the feathers and cut off the desired amount along the quill. Set the hair to the desired length and wrap the hooklink twice around the shank. Now lay the feathers lengthwise over the shank and wrap them around five times. Then pass the end through the hook eye from behind. Pull everything tight and trim the feathers at the hook bend to shape, being extra careful near the hook eye. These instructions are for the fully camouflaged rig.

You can also choose to camouflage only your hooklink, in which case skip the part with the feathers. Then set your hair to length and tie it with the knotless knot. The reason I use my own hooklink material is: ‘it’s harder to tie with the weed around it’. Now cut the weed/algae line to length and expose the core hooklink on both sides. Take the super glue and bond the end of your hooklink with the weed/algae line together using a drop of glue, then let it dry thoroughly. Once dry, carefully slide the weed over the hooklink and cut off the hooklink from the weed at the glued section. Now slide the anti tangle sleeve over your line and create a loop. Don’t slide the weed all the way to the eye, but always leave a small section free for better hook rotation. If the weed section slides down, take a piece of putty and knead it onto the end of the weed.

Your rig is now ready to use!

I have been fishing all my life, but the carp bug started around when I was sixteen, in the western part of the country where I was born. I was less active in fishing for a few years, but the passion runs where it cannot be suppressed. Fishing truly brings me peace, being out in nature, and feeling the adrenaline rush when the bite alarm goes off. Besides carp fishing, I enjoy experimenting with everything related to carp fishing.
