Etang de la Poiteviniere

Etang de la Poiteviniere is 78 hectares (171.6 acres) in size and has 32 swims. Considering the surface area of ​​the water, this is not excessive, and each angler has at least 1.6 hectares of space to fish. The water is completely fenced with large forests, giving you the feeling of being in the middle of nature. The small village of La Poiteviniere borders only on the south-west side of the water.

Arrival and departure times are from Saturday 12:00 PM to Saturday 10:00 AM.

Services
The sanitary building has 2 showers and 2 toilets. There are several dry toilets on site that you must use. Freezers are also available and it is possible to charge batteries.

The Swims
Each of the 33 fishing swims at Etang de la Poiteviniere is equipped with a pontoon/jetty. These pontoons provide the most comfortable way to fish, cast and enjoy the view. The average depth of the water is 2.5 meters. The deepest point is at swim 0 where it is 4 meters deep. Then there is an average depth of 2.5 meters to 3.5 meters where it increases to the cuttings 30 to a 2 meter depth.
Each site has a wooden jetty in the water and is very spacious and neatly maintained, including special rubbish bins for the different types of waste. It is possible to fish on Etang de Poiteviniere from small campers (sprinter size). This is possible on swim 11 to 19 and swim 22 to 25. Twenty-one swims are located on the south side, 10 swims on the north side and 2 swims are on the island.

4 different zones:
On the south side, 20 swims (no. 1 to 19) plus 2 swims 32 and 33 are aligned and generally allow fishing on the bottom of the original canal, at reasonable fishing distances.

Swim 20: Located on open water, close to the drainage system, this isolated fishing spot offers very interesting fishing opportunities for those who do not want to cast their rods randomly… And is located in the middle of the east side!

North side 10 swims (or castle side), swims 20 to 27 plus swims 30 and 31 welcome you for extensive fishing areas and a wild side for more privacy. These cuttings are truly beautiful!

The island swim (28 and 29) is only accessible by boat, which are offered on location, the island offers a 360-degree view of Etang de la Poiteviniere. The boats may only be used as a means of transport to and from the island.

The swims 20,28,29,30,31,32,33 are 2 person swims
Sites 11 to 19 and 22 to 25 have the option to accommodate a small campervan similar to a Mercedes Sprinter.

Bait boat use
Etang de la Poiteviniere is a casting-only location. Bait boats and/or boats are not allowed.
Night fishing is permitted and each angler may use four rods at a time. A storage bag is allowed at night to be able to photograph the most beautiful fish in daylight. There are rules associated with storing fish overnight.

The fish stock
The carp population is very good with an average weight of 14 kg and many carp of 15 kg. There are about 100 carp over 20kg+ and about thirty carp over 25kg+.
The largest mirror carp currently swimming around Etang de la Poitevinière was last caught at 34kg+. The largest common carp weighs 27kg+. An interesting detail is that there are many fully scale carp and other beautiful carp strings swimming around!

Fishing equipment
It is not possible to rent fishing equipment on location. There is a fishing tackle shop 20 km from Etang de Poiteviniere in the town of Nort sur Erdre.
