In the region of North Brabant, south of Holland, lies the village of Almkerk where you can find the pretty 7 acre fishing lake “ the Duylmeer” . Set amongst meadows and surrounded by reeds,trees and overhanging trees, this really is a place to switch of from everyday life and relax whilst watching the local dutch wildlife going about its daily business. The lake itself has only 3 pegs which is plenty as there is a maximum of 2 anglers allowed per week, the depth of water ranges from 6 to 20 feet deep and the lake bed is firm with light silt. The fish stocks here are totally unknown but the stock that has been caught thus far is predominantly commons, we’re convinced this little gem still has some surprises to throw up though, you might just be the lucky angler that catches a previously uncaught leviathan.
On site you will find a quaint cottage that has a toilet, shower, kitchen, electricity, running water and 2x single beds, although you of course have the option to sleep in your bivvy should you wish to. If you are looking for a relaxing weeks fishing catching pristine carp on a beautiful water then the Duylmeer is perfect for you.
The Duylmeer is for booking exclusively only, meaning you get the whole lake, grounds and accommodation to yourself for the duration of your holiday.

The lake Het Duylmeer in Almkerk has 3 swims for a maximum of 2 anglers. You always have the Duylmeer all to yourself. You can choose from a swim located at the cottage that you can use during your fishing holiday. Of course you can also fish from your own bivvy. Despite the fact that the Duylmeer is not very large, there are depths of up to 6.5 meters. The lake is completely fenced off with large reeds and trees. Which makes the overall picture very soothing.

The fish stock
A very varied stock of fish such as common and mirror carp swim on the Duylmeer. The average weight is between 10 and 13 kg, with peaks of up to 23 kg. The fish are now smart enough to swim into the reeds when they take a bite. It is recommended to use a dinghy or use the existing boat. Are you a fanatic angler for roach? Then the Duylmeer is also suitable for you! Tench, bream and rudd also swim in the lake. So the Duylmeer is also interesting for the angler who wants to fish with a pole. Good to know Of course we all like to take our four-legged friend with us on holiday! And dogs are allowed on the Duylmeer. But because of events in the past, there are rules to this. Your dog must stay nearby the accommodation. If you want to walk your dog, he must be on a leash. The nearby pastures allow the neighbor’s livestock.

The Accommodation
The Duylmeer has 3 swims for a maximum of 2 anglers, so you always have the whole lake to yourself. It is also possible to fish from the accommodation. The accommodation has European plugs for electricity and running water, gas is provided by gasbottles. On arrival you can park your car on the lawn. And from here it is a 50-meter walk to the accommodation.

There is a trolly available to bring your things to the accommodation.

The Duylmeer is located in untouched nature between the meadows and is surrounded by reed beds, trees and overhanging forests. The 3-hectare fishing water offers you the opportunity to enjoy your fishing holiday in a wonderful and relaxing nature with a beautiful flora and fauna. Between 4 and 8 minutes you will find several supermarkets.

It meets every luxury for a maximum of 4 people. Unfortunately there is no Wifi available.
Bed linen and kitchen towels are available on arrival. You do not have to bring these.

1. Rules

Only the use of unhooking mat, weighing bag and landing net provided by the manager is permitted. Wet the landing net and unhooking mat before using it.
3 rods are allowed per angler.
Fishing rods may not be left unattended when the lines are in the water (not even when using a shower or toilet).
Only micro barbs may be used. No benthooks
No fixed weight system, only free running systems are allowed. The last 30 to 40 cm must be fitted with a tubing. Make sure that the fish can free itself at all times if the line breaks.
Braided line is not allowed.
Nylon mainline must have a minimum of 12 or 15 lb breaking force and
The fish may not be kept in a weighing bag / weight sling or storage bag.
Always use the weighing bag / weightsling to move the fish.
Keep the fish wet while shooting. And squat for your picture. (Do not stand with the fish!) Before releasing the fish, it should be treated with a hook wound disinfectant (Kryston clinic, Korda, carp care or similar)
Bar markers and H markers are prohibited.
Bait boats may be used. There is a metal boat available, life jacket mandatory, use at your own risk. In case of a bite, it is advised to go to the fish by boat.
Barbecue on legs may be used. (Waste should be separated into garbage bags.)
No peanuts or nuts, not even tiger nuts or beans.
Swimming is prohibited.
Particles only allowed when prepared by a company in closed packaging.
It is forbidden to prepare bait in the accommodation.

On all venues that Angling Escapes mediates you are obliged to bring First Aid / Carp Care and to treat the carp with it, after it has been hooked.
Neither the manager, the owner nor Angling Escapes is liable for loss and / or theft of goods or accidents and / or physical injury. Both the manager / owners of the water and Angling Escapes cannot be held responsible for damage or loss of your belongings.
Important, make sure you have a travel and cancellation insurance policy.
If the above rules are not respected, the owner may force you to leave the site at any time without any refund of the fare.

2. General rules

Barbecue on legs may be used. (Waste should be separated into garbage bags.)
Swimming is prohibited.
Persons who cause damage to property may be held liable.
Damage to trees and plants is strictly prohibited.
It is forbidden to have/make fire on the ground.
Minors are not allowed to fish without adult supervision.
In the evening after 22:00 and in the morning until 08:00 we observe a silence, so music and noise, etc. are prohibited during the hours mentioned above.
It is forbidden to remove mattresses from the accommodation and use them outside.
Smoking in the accommodation is not allowed. This also applies to burning candles in the accommodation.
Together with you, the manager will check the site and/or accommodation for cleanliness and inventory.
Use of furniture and shower in the accommodation by dogs is not allowed; any contamination thereof must be removed
Walking the dogs on the grounds must only take place on a leash.
The dogs must stay at the property under the supervision of the owner/keeper.
A maximum of two dogs can be accepted per reservation. Only dogs weighing up to 15 kg are allowed.

Damage to vegetation and/or plants must be prevented: faeces must be cleared away.
Cars are only allowed in the designated areas. You have to walk about 50 meters from the parking lot to the property. A trolly for transporting your fishing gear is easy.
You must leave the site and the accommodation in a clean and undamaged condition upon departure the administrator and you are controlled jointly.
