Fish Stock
Étang de Méry holds a strong and healthy carp stock that perfectly matches the natural and peaceful character of the lake. The stock mainly consists of mirror carp, common carp, and a few koi. The heaviest recorded carp to date is a common carp of 57 lbs (26 kg), proving that there are some serious specimens swimming in these waters.
On average, carp weigh around 26 lbs (12 kg), with regular fish reaching up to 33 lbs (15 kg) and above. It is estimated that around 450 carp currently inhabit the lake. As the venue is still relatively unknown and lightly fished, there is plenty left to discover. This adds an exciting element – every take could be a surprise.
Further stockings are planned for the winter of 2025, which will increase the stock and ensure diversity in the coming years. This makes Étang de Méry an attractive carp fishing destination for the future as well.
In addition to carp, anglers occasionally catch coarse fish and pike, which help maintain a balanced ecosystem. Predator fishing, however, is not practiced here and does not interfere with carp angling. You should expect the presence of crayfish.

General Information
Étang de Méry is a former gravel pit with a varied and interesting bottom structure. Depths go down to around 16 ft (5 m), with drop-offs, plateaus, ridges, and zones of sand, silt, and gravel. These features create plenty of hotspots that can be targeted strategically. This makes the venue suitable for both less experienced anglers and seasoned carp hunters looking for a challenge.
The domain has 14 spacious, well-maintained swims. All swims are large enough for two anglers and spaced far enough apart to guarantee privacy and peace. Each swim has room for a bivvy and parking your car right next to it.
Swims 1 to 5 can also accommodate small campervans, allowing you to fish directly from your vehicle. Although swims are rented as single-angler pegs, it is possible to fish together with a friend.
Bait boats, inflatable boats, and electric motors are all allowed, but you need to bring your own. Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed by the manager, Renaud, who will show you around and give you useful tips for your session. His knowledge of the lake is a valuable asset for making your carp fishing holiday in France a success.

Facilities
In Méry-sur-Marne and the nearby villages you will find several useful amenities such as supermarkets, bakeries, cafés, and restaurants – ideal for doing your shopping or enjoying a meal outside the venue.
On-site there is a compost toilet available. Work is currently underway to add extra facilities such as showers and standard toilets to further improve comfort for future guests.
In the near future, the plan is to build a central facilities area with proper sanitary services and possibly electricity points for charging batteries and mobile phones.
