We were from 13 to 20 August on site 1 on Lepinet.
For me the seventh time there and for my sister-in-law the fourth time.
The trip was lucky and we had no traffic jams at most an occasional slow moving traffic.

We arrived on Saturday and saw fish on the spot right away, given the high temperatures we decided to set up our camp first which consisted of a screenhouse and each of us a private tent for sleeping.
The screenhouse comes in very handy on both days with good and bad weather and I can recommend it to anyone who goes fishing with more people
We could not catch any fish on the Saturday and this will undoubtedly have had to do with the temperatures of that day and the week before.
On the 2nd day we were able to catch 4 fish including the first forty, there was a slight change in weather noticeable.

The third there was thunderstorm and this was necessary for the fish to go loose we caught 14 fish that day including another forty.

We had several double runs and a tripplerun this week
On Wednesday my sister-in-law actually managed to land a 26 kilogram fish which of course meant a PB for her.

We caught a total of 58 fish 1 fiver, 6 forties 18 thirties and this number of fish could have been more if we had put more on but considering the high temperatures and enjoying ourselves was paramount we had several moments where we left some rods out.

About the lake, the water has subsided a lot but this gives no problems for the fish or the fish, it is rather an advantage because the trees on the side are no longer hanging in the water at swim 1 so they can’t dive into it.
The fish are particularly strong which gives a nice sport and you never know in advance if it is a large or smaller fish.
Unfortunately this also has a downside, I think many people drill too hard and give the fish no slack so many fish have a broken mouth corner.

Plumbing is clean and adequate, this week is also always neatly left behind by the other fishermen I’ve unfortunately also sometimes seen otherwise.
If I want to suggest an improvement it is that the shower cubicles could have been slightly larger (are certainly neat and free while the previous owner you had to pay for a lot less shower). And a separate toilet for the ladies and gentlemen would perhaps not crazy.

We saw the baylif regularly this week and both men also mastered English quite well so good communication was possible.
Fishing: In itself not very difficult just do normal and pay attention to the water and if a spot falls silent on not producing find another spot. For example, I searched for a new swim on Thursday and in the last 20 hours it produced 6 fish while our ‘hotspot’ dropped dead.
Remarkable was that we fished almost all singlebait 18mm strawberry and we only caught 1 bream while last year I did the same with the scopex squid and then we caught one bream to the next so I had to change my bait.
Overall: Again we had a very nice week and will certainly not be the last time we have been here.

Good catches all!
